Yun Kyung Lee is an associate professor in Department of Integrated Biomedical Science, Soonchunhyang Institute of Medi-bio Science (SIMS) at Soonchunhyang University. She received her Ph.D. degree in the laboratory of Dr. Casey Weaver at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She completed her post-doctoral training in the laboratory of Dr. Sarkis Mazmanian at the California Institute of Technology. The primary goal of her research is to investigate the effect of gut microbiota on host immune system both in physiological and pathological conditions.
Since 2018, Dr. Shinkura has been a professor in Institute for Quantitative Biosciences (the University of Tokyo, Japan). She graduated from Kyoto University (MD, 1986) and worked as a clinician for six years. She obtained PhD in 1997 (under Dr. Tasuku Honjo). Then she continued research with Dr. Frederick W Alt at Harvard Medical School in Boston, USA. In 2003, she rejoined Dr. Honjos group. In 2010, she established a new laboratory in Nagahama Institute of Biosciences and Technology, Nara Institute of Biosciences and Technology and present institute. She focuses on IgA drug development as a gut microbial regulator.
Kenya Honda received his M.D. from Kobe University School of Medicine and his Ph.D. from Kyoto University School of Medicine in Japan. Hebecame a team leader at RIKEN IMS in 2013 and a professor at Keio University School of Medicine in 2014. He received the Carlos J. FinlayUNESCO Prize for Microbiology in 2020. He is a scientific co-founder of Vedanta Biosciences and a member of the advisory boards for ScienceTranslational Medicine, Mucosal Immunology, and Cell Host & Microbe.
Dr. Campbell joined Axial Therapeutics in 2017 and became CEO in 2021. He brings more than 28 years of experience leading and building teams that have strong track records of discovering and developing novel therapeutics for the patients who need them. Since starting his career as a medicinal chemist at Boehringer Ingelheim, Dr. Campbell has since held various leadership roles at biopharmaceutical and chemical manufacturing companies, including Corden Pharma, Surface Logix and Insmed. He played an integral role in the discovery and development of seven clinical-stage drug candidates, including the Rho kinase inhibitor belumosudil (Rezurock). Dr. Campbell has been a co-inventor on more than 20 issued patents. He received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the Queens University and completed post-doctoral research at Duke University.
Dr. Grace Park has completed her Ph.D in Microbiology, focused on the modulation of the gut and skin microbiome through probiotic interventions at Handong Global University in the Laboratory of Human Effective Microbes in South Korea. She is currently the Vice President of Research and Product Development of ELSI Skin Health, a female led skin microbiome company focused on improving womens health through microbiome-friendly skincare through their brand Dr. Elsa Jungman and provide data-driven holistic solutions utilizing their microbiome-based AI powered technology for personalization, innovation and claims through HelloBiome.
Dr Albert Dashi (Chief Scientific Officer) is Sequential’s co-founder. He completed his PhD in molecular genetics, epigenetics and stem cell research at the National University of Singapore (NUS) and the Genome Institute of Singapore in 2019. In 2014, he received the Singapore International Graduate Award from A*STAR for his PhD research and was also awarded the “Young Investigator” award. He also won the “Young Entrepreneur Scheme” award by P&G for his innovative and business driven ideas. Prior moving to Singapore for his doctorate program, Albert obtained his Masters in Biomedical Sciences at University of Bern, Switzerland. With an MSc Biomedical Sciences and >10 published papers on molecular genetics, epigenetics and stem cell research
Dr. Nagarajan is Associate Director and Senior Group Leader in the Genome Institute of Singapore, and Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine and Department of Computer Science at the National University of Singapore. His research focuses on developing cutting edge genome analytic tools and using them to study the role of microbial communities in human health. His team conducts research at the interface of genetics, computer science and microbiology, in particular using a systems biology approach to understand host-microbiome-pathogen interactions in various disease conditions. Dr. Nagarajan received a B.A. in Computer Science and Mathematics from Ohio Wesleyan University in 2000, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Cornell University in 2006 (Advisor: Prof. Uri Keich). He did his postdoctoral work in the Center for Bioinformatics and Computational Biology at the University of Maryland working on problems in genome assembly and metagenomics (Advisor: Prof. Mihai Pop).
