7th Skin Microbiome & Cosmeceuticals Congress
Discover how microbial science is redefining dermatology, cosmetics, and personalized skin care.

The Skin Microbiome & Cosmeceuticals Congress: USA has always proved to be a popular meeting with it’s exclusive focus on the skin microbiome. We are delighted that Elizabeth Grice will be giving the opening Keynote address drawing on her labs investigation in to microbial-mediated functions in skin barrier maintenance and repair, integrating analysis of clinical specimens with translational models of host-microbiota interactions and multi-omic approaches.
Panelists will also lead an interactive discussion on if Personalized Skincare and the Skin Microbiome is a Pipe Dream or Future Standard?

OPEN LETTER: DAN BROWNELL
Senior Director, R&D, AOBiome
It is with great enthusiasm that I invite you to join me at the 7th Skin Microbiome & Cosmeceuticals Congress USA, taking place this year in San Diego, CA.
As researchers, clinicians, and industry leaders, we are united by a shared goal: to better understand the complex biology of skin and translate that knowledge into real-world solutions for health and wellbeing. Nowhere is this convergence more exciting—or more necessary—than in the skin microbiome field.
I am delighted to be giving a presentation, entitled “B244 in the Clinic: Atopic Dermatitis, Acne, and Beyond.” In this talk, I will introduce you to B244, a topical biotherapeutic based on a live single strain of Nitrosomonas eutropha, and report on our clinical data, giving new mechanistic insights into B244 and raising the possibility of new areas where it may be efficacious.
The first generation of microbiome therapeutics was borne out of the ability to sequence human bacterial communities to determine what was missing/overrepresented in the healthy and diseased states, allowing for construction of consortia to correct these dysbioses. While there have been successes using this approach, there have also been high-profile failures. The field has moved beyond merely sequencing-based approaches, incorporating a range of new technologies such as metabolomics, proteomics, and bioinformatics.
This congress brings together a community of scientists, dermatologists, product developers, and thought leaders to exchange ideas, form collaborations, and spark new directions in skin microbiome research and cosmeceutical applications. Whether you are developing next-generation therapeutics, studying microbial-host interactions, or leading product innovation in skincare, this meeting offers invaluable opportunities to learn, connect, and lead.
I look forward to seeing many of you there and to sharing the latest from our work at the intersection of microbiology, dermatology, and translational science.
Warm regards,
Dan Brownell
