Faisal Mahmood

Dr. Faisal Mahmood is an Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School and the Division of Computational Pathology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital. He is a full member of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute / Harvard Cancer Center ; an Associate Member of the Broad Institute of Harvard and MIT. His laboratory works on developing foundation models, generative and agentic AI algorithms, methods, and techniques for healthcare with a particular focus on disease diagnosis, prognosis and therapeutic response prediction. Dr. Mahmood’s lab has developed several widely used methods and algorithms for digital and computational pathology, and his lab’s work has been published in major scientific journals. He is also a principal investigator on several large NIH and ARPA-H grants. Dr. Mahmood is also the Scientific Co-Founder of Modella AI a company with a focus on developing generative and agentic AI tools for healthcare.

Weihong Tan

Professor Weihong Tan earned his Ph.D. in physical chemistry at the University of Michigan in 1993. Currently, he is the director of Hangzhou Institute of Medicine, Chinese Academy of Sciences, the dean of the Zhejiang Cancer Hospital. He is also the director of the State Key Laboratory of Chemo/Biosensing and Chemometrics, and distinguished professor of chemistry and biology at Hunan University, and the director of the Institute of Molecular Medicine at Renji Hospital and Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He served as a University Distinguished Professor and a V.T. and Louis Jackson Professor at the University of Florida for more than 20 years. Professor Tan’s research is in the general area of molecular medicine, bioanalytical chemistry, and chemical biology. He specializes in aptamer research, DNA nanotechnology, and cancer theranostics. He has received many awards and honors, including the Second Prize of the State Natural Science Award in 2014 and 2020, the Award in Spectrochemical Analysis from the American Chemical Society in 2018, the Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress, Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation in 2018, the Ralph Adams Award for Bioanalytical chemistry and The Pittsburgh Analytical Chemistry Award in 2019, Britton Chance Award in 2024.

Daljeet Bansal BMedSci PhD, is the Operations Director of the National Pathology Imaging Cooperative (NPIC) and oversees both the delivery of the program and leads on research partnerships. NPIC builds on the existing fully digital lab at Leeds and will create a globally leading infrastructure for digital pathology and Artificial Intelligence research. NPIC aims to deploy digital pathology scanners across over 40 hospitals across England, scanning over 2.3m images per year and generating 3 Petabytes of image data per year. NPIC considers the entire life cycle of AI development including deployment of digital pathology, data ethics, data sharing practices, patient and public engagement, interoperability and standards (DICOM), quality assurance, clinical validation and AI clinical exemplars for the real world evaluation of digital pathology.

Chao-Hui Huang

Chih-Hong Wang is currently the Operations Manager of Pathology at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. He earned his PhD in Molecular and Cellular Pathology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2010 and completed his postdoctoral fellowship at the University of California San Diego. With over a decade of experience in histology and pathology studies, his research primarily focuses on cardiovascular diseases and hematology. He has published 17 papers in these fields. Before joining Regeneron in 2022, he held faculty positions in the Department of Physiology & Hypertension and Kidney Center at Tulane University, and the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Nephropathy at UMICH. He later served as a principal scientist of the histopathology team at TrueBinding Inc. He is driven by the mission to assist scientists and pathologists in achieving fulfillment and a sense of belonging in their study projects. He utilizes digital pathology to foster collaboration on significant projects in preclinical drug development studies.

Jinmiao Chen

Dr. Jinmiao Chen is an Associate Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School, NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, and a Senior Principal Investigator at A*STAR, Singapore. Her research lab specializes in AI-powered single-cell and spatial omics analysis for precision medicine, with a particular focus on developing AI algorithms and omics databases. Recognized as a Highly Cited Researcher from 2020 to 2024 and selected as an EMBO Global Investigator in 2023, Dr. Chen holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Sun Yat-sen University, China, and a PhD in AI and Computational Biology from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Following her PhD, she joined A*STAR as a postdoctoral researcher before establishing her own research lab.

Dr. Yuhao Yi is a researcher in the Institute of Clinical Pathology, West China Hospital, Sichuan University. He received his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from Fudan University, China, in 2019. From 2019 to 2020, he was a postdoc in the Computer Science Department at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, USA, and from 2020 to 2022, he was a postdoc in EECS at KTH Royal Institute of Technology. He started his work at Sichuan University as a researcher in August 2022 in the College of Computer Science and is now affiliated with the Institute of Clinical Pathology. He has broad research interests ranging from foundations in algorithm design to trends in artificial intelligence. Currently, his research focuses on pathology image processing, distributed learning and optimization algorithms, and calibration of large multimodal language models in pathology applications. He has published more than 20 papers in conferences including AAAI, IJCAI, WWW, IJCNN, and journals such as IEEE Trans. Inf. Theory (TIT), SIAM J. Control Optim. (SICON), IEEE TCYB, and TCNS. His work is supported in part by the Young Scientists Fund of the National Natural Science Foundation of China.

Grace Yeo is a GIS/BII Fellow in the Single Cell and Spatial Omics Domain at GIS. She received her PhD from MIT in the Computational and Systems Biology program under the supervision of Dr. David Gifford. During her PhD, she developed computational analysis pipelines for novel scRNA-based perturbation assays, as well as deep learning methods for modeling biological processes such as cellular differentiation. At GIS, she works closely with the Shyam Prabhakar Lab to develop imaging and downstream analysis pipelines for spatial DNA and RNA assays applied to colorectal cancer. Her research interests revolve around the integration of modern machine learning methods with state-of-the-art –omic technologies for studying complex biological systems.

A seasoned executive leader in the biotechnology industry with over 20 years of experience in medical product development and commercialization. He has held pivotal roles in leading medical device and pharmaceutical R&D organizations. With deep expertise in molecular pathology, histopathology, and pharmacokinetics, he has successfully led the registration, market launch, and clinical implementation of medical products across more than 10 countries, driving business growth and global market expansion.

Chee Wee Ong

Dr Ong Chee Wee is a Laboratory Scientific Officer specialising in oncology, histopathology, and molecular pathology. Dr Ong obtained his Ph.D. from Queen’s University Belfast and completed postdoctoral training at the Wellcome Centre for Human Genetics, University of Oxford. He plays an active role in supporting diagnostic accuracy in cancer and exploring how digital pathology and AI can enhance diagnostic workflows. His work focuses on refining laboratory processes and integrating emerging technologies to improve diagnostic precision and support better patient outcomes.

Bruno Occhipinti is CEO of Qritive, a Singapore-based start-up specialized in AI-powered solutions to enable affordable and accurate diagnostics at scale for cancer diagnosis. He has been operating in the digital health field in different capacities. Previously, he was General Manager of AICS, a venture division of ASUS enabling healthcare transformation through Artificial Intelligence. He also founded CrestaLab, a boutique consulting firm, coaching and advising corporations that enable equitable access to quality care. Formerly in Philips APAC, as Director of Strategy and New Business Development, he has designed and executed several initiatives in chronic-care management, telehealth, and affordable care across Southeast Asia, after driving management consulting projects for Philips ExCo in Amsterdam as part of the Strategy Group. Prior to that, in Seoul, Bruno handled corporate development for a venture specialized in renewables within Samsung Group, following his role as Global Strategist at Samsung headquarters. Beforehand, he took on several roles in the software domain, as pre-sales, product manager, and consultant in Business Intelligence solutions for Hyperion (now Oracle) across APAC and Europe. Kevin Gui, serves as Vice President at KFBIO. Winnie has post-graduate medical training in both Nuclear Medicine and Diagnostic Radiology. Her clinical interests include theranostic applications of PET/CT, SPECT/CT and radionuclide therapy. Winnie has been contributing actively to Singapore General Hospital in the various aspects of clinical service, education and research. Notably, she was the inaugural Program Director of the National Nuclear Medicine Residency Program in 2012-2018. She also served as the Director of Nuclear Medicine Operations in the Department (2018-2023) before becoming Head of Department in 2023, and as a member on various committees such as the MOH Residency Advisory Committee. He specializes in haematolymphoid pathology, digital pathology, and healthcare informatics, leading digital enablement, AI and data science applications in pathology.

Dr. Cheng is an Assistant Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School and has authored several peer-reviewed publications in pathology, genomics, and AI applications. He contributed to the WHO Classification of Haematolymphoid Tumours and has secured grants for AI-driven pathology innovation. He is an executive member of the Asian Society of Digital Pathology (Treasurer, since 2024) and the Association of Pathologist Singapore (IT Secretary, since 2015), as well as Associate Editor of Pathology (RCPA) and International Editorial Board Member for Journal of Pathology Informatics.

Xi Wang

Dr. Xi Wang is currently a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Hong Kong University of Science and Techology (HKUST). Before that, she worked as a post-doctoral fellow at Stanford University and The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). She received her Ph.D. degree in CSE from CUHK in 2020. Her research lies at the intersection of computer science, medical science, and physics, with special emphasis on deep learning, medical image analysis, and complex systems, strongly driven by the goal of improving human health. She has received several honors, including the Best Paper Award at MIAR 2016, Second Place in the Best Free Paper Presentation at the APOIS Meeting 2021, and the Stanford Seed Grant Award in 2023. She has also won multiple international grand challenges in medical imaging analysis. One of her works was selected as the Cover Page of The Lancet Digital Health, and another as a Featured Article in IEEE Reviews in Biomedical Engineering.

Prof. David Brettle is the Chief Scientific Officer at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, the Quality Theme Lead for NPIC, and an honorary professor at the University of Salford. Prior to this he was the Head of Medical Physics and Engineering at Leeds Teaching Hospitals for 11 years. During this time, he completed a term as President of the institute of Physics in Engineering and Medicine. In 2022 he received a lifetime achievement award from the Chief Scientific Officer for NHS England.

His current role includes the professional lead for the Healthcare Scientists in Leeds; research into image quality and the development of quality tools in digital pathology at NPIC; and leading on innovation and technology for the two new hospitals being built in Leeds.

His background is in radiology physics and his digital imaging experience spans over 30 years. Early work included developing some of the first digital mammograms and algorithms. From this work themes around image probity, digital display, imaging system evaluation and psychophysics have been developed and are re-applied in digital pathology through his role in NPIC.

Da Liu

Mr. Da Liu is an accomplished investment professional with over two decades of experience spanning clinical pharmacy, corporate healthcare leadership, and life sciences venture capital. Beginning his career as a clinical pharmacist in New York, he later held executive roles in China and now serves as a global life sciences investor based in Hong Kong.

Known for bridging deep clinical insight with strategic investment acumen, Mr. Liu focuses on supporting technologies that drive paradigm shifts, improve healthcare accessibility, and solve key industry challenges. He has a strong track record of identifying high-potential ventures and helping them grow into market leaders. His notable investments include GenScript, Legend Biotech, and Belkin Vision, which was acquired by Alcon in 2024. In 2021, he led an $87 million financing round for MiRXES, a Singapore company in the diagnostics sector. This was the largest life sciences fundraising in Southeast Asia at the time and led to MiRXES’s successful IPO in 2025.

Mr. Liu is the author of two award-winning books on life sciences investment and serves on the Committee on Innovation, Technology and Industry Development of Hong Kong SAR. His leadership and foresight continue to shape the future of diagnostics and healthcare innovation across Asia and beyond.

She has also won two second prizes for provincial scientific and technological progress (second place), one second prize in the Provincial Higher Education Teachers; Teaching Innovation Competition, and an award for teaching and academic innovation.

Chenxi Hu

Dr. Chenxi Hu is Associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. After earning an M.S. in Applied Mathematics and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Auburn University (2010–2015), he completed post-doctoral training at Yale School of Medicine (2015–2019). His research centers on novel MR sequences, reconstruction, and AI to boost speed, robustness, and clinical value—especially in cardiac MRI. He leads national key R&D projects, holds 8 patents, has published 80+ papers in top-tier journals/conferences, and received the 2018 ISMRM W. S. Moore Young Investigator Award.

Magdy Ali

Dr. Magdy Ali Abdou Gouda has been an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medical Imaging Sciences, College of Health Sciences, Gulf Medical University, since June 2023. He has over nine years of academic and research experience in Medical Imaging Sciences across several institutions in Egypt. From 2014 to 2022, he held positions as Assistant Lecturer, Lecturer, and Assistant Professor at Pharos University in Alexandria. Since 2021, he has served as a lecturer for the Continuing Medical Education Committee of the Egyptian Society of Applied Medical Sciences.

He has also worked as a technical director and consultant for medical imaging services at major radiology centers in Egypt. He is a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of PriMera Scientific Surgical Research and Practice (ISSN: 2836-0028). He serves as a reviewer for several journals, including the Journal of Advances in Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences and other high-impact journals in the field of medical imaging and radiology.

Nur Hayati Jasmin

Dr. Nur Hayati Jasmin is a Senior Lecturer and Coordinator of Academic Innovation at Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA), Malaysia. She earned her PhD in Biomedical Imaging from University College London (UCL), specializing in cardiovascular imaging. Her doctoral research focuses on myocardial viability post-acute myocardial infarction, employing advanced MRI techniques to enhance diagnostic precision. Her research interests extend to the development of early imaging markers for heart failure, particularly in diabetic and post-infarction patients, and the use of novel contrast agents, such as manganese, in pre-clinical imaging. A key area of her expertise is the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in cardiac imaging, with a particular emphasis on improving diagnostic accuracy and patient outcomes in cardiovascular diseases as well improving clinical workflow. Additionally, she has contributed to the advancement of medical imaging education by integrating augmented reality (AR) tools into teaching methodologies. She has also developed Micro-credential and Massive Open Online Learning (MOOC) programs aimed at enhancing accessibility and innovation in radiography education.

Dr. Nur Hayati Jasmin has published in peer-reviewed journals and has received multiple awards, including Magna Cum Laude Award at ISMRM, Mansfield Research Award, Special Awards for Futuristic Teaching and Gold Medals in research and e-Learning innovation. She is an active reviewer for leading journals and regularly contributes to international conferences, where she shares her expertise in both cardiac imaging and educational technology.
