In 2020 the Isala citizen-science project on the vaginal microbiome in healthy women was launched. (https://isala.be). The enthusiasm of participants was overwhelming. Registrations had to be limited at 5500 women. All were invited to donate two vaginal swabs and answer many private questions in a long online questionnaire.
