Machine learning (ML), a subset of artificial intelligence (AI) is being increasingly employed as a method to help augment NAFLD diagnostics be it in the areas of histology, imaging, diagnostic scoring systems, genetics of novel biomarkers. I will review the use of ML in these areas and discuss their strengths and weaknesses and how they may be incorporated into clinical practice..
